 Situated in the eastern foothills of the Stara Planina mountain range, directly on the Black Sea coast, St Vlas is a preferable holiday destination, ideal for recreation and respiratory disease treatment during all seasons. Founded during the 2nd century b.c., the Thracian settlement Larisa, during 14th century is being named St. Vlas - the protector of livestock trading. There have been five monasteries around the village. In the past years the sea and mountain combination, as well as the Mediterranean climate, win the village a recognition of a preffered tourist destination. There are many hotels, pansions, holiday villas and restaurants. During the evenings you can visit the amphitheatre offering varied entertainment program. According to the specialists the big stage, located very close to the beach is suitable for all types of performances. Most of the performances are free and are a gift to the tourists and guests in St.Vlas. For the fans of the yacht tourism is the new marina Dinevi. Visitors can also avail themselves of the varied amenities at Sunny Beach resort.
